What is Project Graduation?
For over 25 years, our committee has planned an all-night, substance-free party for PHS and PHHS graduates. Statistically, graduation night has the highest number of vehicle accidents among seniors nationwide but schools with Project Graduation have statistics that are significantly less. The goal is to keep every Parsippany graduating senior safe on graduation night. Activities planned include tennis, volleyball, basketball, swimming, hot tubs and other fun events. Entertainment provided will include a DJ and, funds permitting, other interactive activities such as bouncy boxing or bungee run, along with a constant supply of food and beverages throughout the evening. As always, adult volunteers will chaperone. Project Graduation is being planned to ensure a fun and safe evening for all 2013 graduates. Historically, it has in part been a graduation gift to them from the Parsippany community. It is only through the generosity of parents, townspeople and the Parsippany business community and many other generous businesses surrounding Parsippany that we have been able keep the cost affordable. Typically, the cost for our almost 300 graduates is slightly under $30,000. In keeping with prior years, our goal is to raise $20,000 from the community to help defray the expenses associated with Project Graduation. We hope you will join with your fellow members neighbors and members of the business community and help us continue this tradition by making a donation to “Parsippany Project Graduation.” Please consider sponsoring a student for $140. Any amount can be contributed and will be received with much gratitude. A great way to help is support and share all of our upcoming fundraising events.
